Canada's National Capital Region - Hockey Country!

The CIH Academy is located in the riverside city of Clarence-Rockland (pop. 21,600), which is at the doorstep of the vibrant and scenic National Capital Region of Canada. Just 30 minutes outside of Ottawa, students of CIH Academy will have the opportunity to experience the rich culture and history of the region during their time at school.

Canada's National Capital Region spans the two provinces of Ontario and Québec, and includes Canada's capital city - Ottawa - the city of Gatineau, and with smaller communities like Clarence-Rockland. This region has a population of nearly 1.5 million people, many of whom are fully bilingual in French and English.

CIH Academy students will benefit from excursions to Ottawa to go ice-skating on the UNESCO World Heritage Rideau Canal-the world's largest outdoor skating rink-or to see Parliament Hill and the many museums, historic sites and monuments that dot the region. Winterlude, held yearly in February, brightens the cold months with maple syrup demonstrations, live music and ice sculpture contests, while the Tulip Festival in May celebrates the arrival of spring with the blooming of over one million tulips throughout the Capital. Easy public transit between Clarence-Rockland and downtown Ottawa means that the community is able to enjoy the sights and amenities of Ottawa while preserving its countryside feel.

There are numerous churches, temples and mosques in the National Capital Region serving a wide variety of faiths, beliefs and backgrounds.

Ottawa is home to the NHL's Ottawa Senators as well as the OHL's Ottawa 67's, while the nearby Gatineau Olympiques were the 2007-08 QMJHL champions. CIH Academy students are surrounded by world-class hockey in a region that truly loves the sport!
